Safety and Industrial Hygiene Compliance Careers

Interested in a career in Safety or Industrial Hygiene? The Virginia Department of Labor and Industry offers progressive, hands-on training in safety and industrial hygiene through the Safety/Health Compliance Officer Apprenticeship Program. This program provides a variety of hands-on and classroom training in OSHA regulations, investigative and compliance practices, evidentiary procedures, report-writing and case management. Upon completion of the Apprenticeship training (usually 2 to 3 years), the employee is considered a Journey-level Compliance Officer.
